Family activity
A 30-day feed of what everyone in the family has been doing.
Family activity is the household view, for Family Managers and Parents. It is the first item in the menu for an adult, so it is what you see when you open the menu; a Reader never sees it. It is a feed of the last 30 days, covering readings, all three kinds of spelling practice, and word list flash-card practice, games, say tests, write practice, write tests and Do you remember? rounds — and, for a family that has the preview features, every finished Listening run and every finished Oral Practice conversation. This feed is the only place a Listening run's report is opened from.
Each row names the kind of activity, the child, the book or list, the result, how long it took, and when. An Oral Practice row's result is the level of the conversation (for example Talk about it), never a mark. A Do you remember? row says how many words were remembered (8 of 10 words remembered) — a check on what is familiar, never a test score. A round your child left half-way is listed too, marked Stopped early (from version 1.311). View opens the right report for that kind — and that report is where Reassign…, deleting and everything else live; the feed itself is read-only.
The read-aloud half of an Oral Practice exam run appears as a reading row labelled Oral practice read-aloud. It is scored like any reading but is not counted in the reading trend.
A whole-book reading is one row. The small arrow beside View — Show the pages in this reading — opens it out into its pages. Its time is how long the reading itself took, and for a recording you imported, the length of that recording.
The reader picker narrows it to one child; it starts on All readers.
Share renders what is on screen as a PDF.
A recording waiting to be checked
One card here is not read-only. If a recording was left unfinished — the app closed, or the battery went — it shows up as "A recording of … is waiting on this device to be checked" with a Review button.
It is worth acting on when you see it. Family activity is the screen many parents check most, and an unfinished recording does not wait indefinitely.
What is not here
Homework-help conversations, Ask Jas chats and composition practice are not in this feed. For those, and for one child over time rather than the household over a month, use the portfolios — or export everything.
