About and licences

Version, build date, diagnostics, legal links and the open-source licences.

Settings → About shows exactly which build you are running — the Version number and the date it was Built. Quote both if you report a problem; they are the fastest way for us to tell what you are seeing.

Sending us your logs

Share diagnostics packages the app's log files so you can email them to support. No passwords and no book content go in it. If we ask you what went wrong and the answer is "it just closed", this is the button — the logs usually say what the screen could not.

Updates

On Windows and Mac, Check for updates is here too. Phones and tablets update through their store. What changed in each version is on the changelog.

The same screen carries the copyright line for Datgel Asia Pte. Ltd. and links to the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, the Licence agreement (EULA), Refunds & cancellation, Acceptable use and the Disclaimer.

Third-party licenses lists the open-source libraries Zen Reader is built on, each with a link to its source.

When one of them changes

For most changes we email the Family Manager and say what is changing and when it takes effect. For the few that you agreed to on your family's behalf, we ask rather than assume: the app shows We've updated something you agreed to, with a link to read the full document, the date it takes effect, and I agree or I don't agree.

You are given time to read it — the ask does not appear the moment a document changes.

Saying you do not agree is a real choice and we record it. It does mean we stop running Zen Reader for your family, so the app goes no further — but you can still download your data and cancel or delete your account from that screen, and change your mind at any time.

Only the Family Manager is asked. Nobody else in the family is interrupted.

Still stuck? Ask Jas with the button in the corner, or email support@zenreader.co.
